surrenderedGeek

Solving for surrender.

Every project starts where I struggle to surrender to Allah. I build what helps me, and share it in case it helps you.

Projects

  • Waqty

    Coming soon

An alarm app built around the five daily prayers. Set a rule once, like 10 minutes before the Asr iqamah at your masjid, and it rings at the right minute every day as the timetable moves through the year.

Works offline. No account, no analytics.

  • Community Portal

    Open source

A self-hosted member portal for small communities: events with family RSVPs, knowledge sessions, a shared library, polls, group expenses and a help board. It runs on one small server with SQLite and works well on phones.

The open-source version of Nawaam, made general for any community. MIT licence. View it on GitHub

About the name

Muslim means one who surrenders their will to Allah. I'm a geek. So: surrenderedGeek.

The mark is sG in square Kufic, the lettering laid in glazed brick on mosque walls from Isfahan to Samarkand: a pixel font long before pixels.
